I found success with an empathic, heart-centered, and strengths based approach. Though combining different approaches that range from challenging stigma, bolstering self-efficacy, to somatic body-centered work, I was able to carve out the ability overcome basic characteristics that are associated with ADHD. I was able to increase my focus on what’s important, manage my incredible kinetic hyperactivity, and re-direct impulses naturally, without feeling bad about myself. I learned the most important thing is to practice loving-kindness–first toward myself, then toward others.
