  • It's the College Hockey Scoreboard Show for September 27, 2024. It's just the scores as you stay up late watching Alaska Anchorage or you're up on a Saturday morning catching up on things. We'll start with the dozen games on the women's side.

Top-ranked Ohio State cruised to an 8-2 victory over Bemidji State, with McKenna Webster and Jordyn Petrie each scoring two goals. The Buckeyes jumped out to a 5-0 lead and outshot the Beavers 34-10. One state over, #2 Wisconsin dominated Lindenwood 12-0, with ten different players finding the back of the net for the Badgers.

In a top-10 showdown, third-ranked Minnesota went on the road and defeated #9 UConn 4-1. Abbey Murphy scored twice, including a goal just 30 seconds into the game. The Gophers outshot UConn 38-10, and head coach Brad Frost reached a milestone with his 500th career win. Frost becomes just the sixth head coach in Division I women's hockey history to accomplish the feat.

#4 Colgate edged Mercyhurst 3-2, thanks to Kaia Malachino’s game-winner early in the third period.
The Knight Time was the right time in Burlington, Vermont as the fifth-ranked Golden Knights of Clarkson routed the host Purple Knights of St. Michael’s 9-0, with nine different players scoring and a staggering 89-6 shot advantage.

#8 St. Lawrence shut out Merrimack 3-0, with Alexia Cote netting her first collegiate goal, while tenth-ranked Quinnipiac blanked Maine 7-0 behind two goals from Maya Labad. #12 Penn State pulled off a 2-1 win over #13 Northeastern, with Maddy Christian’s short-handed goal in the second period serving as the game-winner and earn the split for the host Nittany Lions.

You'd be punctilious in assuming an RIT victory on Friday. The Tigers topped Assumption 3-0, with Addie Alvarez scoring twice in the second period. Yes, that was a 90's-era dad joke.

Holy Cross rallied with two third-period goals to beat RPI 3-2, and Robert Morris defeated Union 3-1. In exhibition action, St. Cloud State handled Manitoba 6-1.

On the men's side, we had just one exhibition game and it was a good ol' Alaska test as Alaska Anchorage bounced Grand Canyon of the ACHA 7-1. Lord Farquaad approves.

That's your College Hockey Scoreboard for September 27, 2024.

Rankings referenced are by the USCHO Coaches Polls.
