The Food and Drug Administration and Savencia CheeseUSA are now recalling a group of soft ripened cheeses. The affected brie cheeses, branded as Aldi, Supreme, La Bonne, Market Basket, Emporium Selection, and Glenview Farms, contain listeria monocytogenes. This bacterium causes a severe and sometimes fatal systemic infection in the very young, older frail individuals, and those with weakened immune systems. Listeria can also trigger miscarriages and stillbirths. Affected are cheeses with manufacturing dates of 9/30/24 and 10/15/24.
If you purchased these cheeses, do not consume them. Return them to the place of purchase for a refund. For more information, contact the Savencia Consumer Relations at (800)-322-2743 or via the email sc.customer.service@savencia.com.
