After losing her aunt to ovarian cancer in 2017, Kerri founded Law Suits, a charity event featuring Canadian lawyers walking in a fashion show to raise funds for Princess Margaret. A year later, Kerri discovered she carried the faulty BRIP1 gene, predisposing her to ovarian cancer. In 2022, a preventative surgery revealed stage 0 ovarian cancer, an aggressive form of the disease. Kerri underwent five rounds of preventative chemotherapy over 4 months. Grateful for her early diagnosis and exceptional care, she has since become a PMCF board member and relaunched Law Suits to continue raising awareness and funds for cancer research. Now two years cancer-free with an excellent prognosis, Kerri credits early detection and the dedicated care team at Princess Margaret for saving her life. Her story is a powerful testament to the life-saving impact of early detection and world-class cancer care.
