Each petition rests on the foundation that God's unchanging nature makes Him completely trustworthy regardless of external circumstances.
Most compelling is the reminder that we aren't encountering a different version of God than biblical figures did. The same God who walked with Abraham, comforted David, and sent His Son remains just as faithful today.
