このコンテンツについて
Crime novelist Dennis Lehane, TV critic Tom Shales and author James Andrew Miller on this edition of Fresh Air. Dennis Lehane's written five novels featuring the working-class Boston private detective team of Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro. They include A Drink Before the War, Darkness Take My Hand, Sacred, Gone, Baby, Gone, and Prayers for Rain. Lehane abandoned the duo for his book about the affect of an abduction on a group of boys. It's a thriller, Mystic River, and it's been made into a new film directed by Clint Eastwood. Tom Shales and James Andrew Miller are the authors of the book, Live from New York: An Uncensored History of Saturday Night Live. The book is a history of the late-night comedy mainstay, which first aired on TV in 1975. Shales and Miller interviewed the shows' producers, writers, cast members, and guest hosts, including Lorne Michaels, Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, Al Franken, Will Farrell, Tom Hanks, and many more. Shales is the Pulitzer Prize-winning television critic of The Washington Post and a movie critic for NPR's Morning Edition. (Original Broadcast Date: March 14, 2001 and October 8, 2002)
