このコンテンツについて
If you were sexually abused as a child or as a minor and the consequences affect your life daily, then read this.
Know that you are no longer alone. For a long time, I didn't know what triggered my anger. Past and present were mixed together, and it was impossible for me to tell them apart. I felt rejected and abandoned. To get to see it more clearly, I undertook several therapeutic approaches, in groups, alone. The secret was buried deeply in my memory and poisoned my existence. All I wanted was to feel better. I simply did not know how and what was causing my suffering.
Years passed before I discovered what was troubling me. Needless to say, living my life was like a windswept leaf, which only brought frustrations and anger. It wasn't until I was backed up against the wall that things changed: overreacting to any comment, without a job or money, I was asked to move out to find a solution. It was not the first time, but it was the last before I went to seek help for this situation never solved. That's when my body reminded me of the trauma. That something that I've always swept under the rug and crippled me for years: childhood sexual abuse.
Here are some behaviors that characterize victims of childhood sexual abuse:
- Have trusting issues
- Take care of others
- Is often in a state of anger or panic
- Reacts like a lioness to the slightest remarks
- Lives aimlessly or the only aim is to escape
- Cannot focus on real needs
- Cannot identify what needs to be done
- Cannot make decisions
- May be affected by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Talking about events that caused so much pain is not easy. The consequences, however, often led to destructive behavior. When I joined a support group, I was told that the victims of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) are survivors.
Through the various readings and exercises carried out with the help of the discussion group, I was finally able to recognize wounds and name long-repressed emotions.
If you think your life would be better without anger or shame, get this book.
