あらすじ・解説
Inayat's Song is the story of a young man who struggled with the great questions of existence. Who is God? And who am I? And what is our relationship? Inayat Khan's first-person narrative is read by award-winning actor Tom Alter. The story is narrated by veteran voice artist Rekha Bhimani. Omid Safi, PhD, director of the Duke University Islamic Study Center, provides commentary.
Inayat Khan was a gold medal-winning musician, a child prodigy from a musical family, including the renowned musician and music educator, Maulbakhsh Shole Khan. Along with his music education, he showed an aptitude for mystical training and was taken as a pupil of Sufi Master Abu Hashim Madani of Hyderabad.
The text is augmented by classical Indian music appropriate to the text and original compositions around Sufi poetry and Zikr by the Canadian American duo, HuDost. Hu is the sound associated with God, and dost means "friend".
The story is presented in six chapters. More information about the book and this audio version can be found at www.InayatsSong.org.
The author researched the story for four years and culled the narrative from various sources including Confessions of Inayat Khan (1915), and the Mystics public lectures from 1915 through 1926.
