One afternoon, out of the blue, there was Peter with the smooth toned swimmers body...full lush lips, speaking of sensational kissing - in the literal meaning of sensational...and of kissing...
How I met Peter Paterson was kind of cute...like a meet-cute in a movie script...It was at a old time Greenwich village gay piano bar known as The Duplex with a long bar and piano downstairs and a small cabaret space upstairs...
One day I was there in there late afternoon, which was unusual, I don’t remember exactly why, killing time before meeting a friend probably. I was just having a drink at the bar watching passers by out the window, which was funny because it was down from the street level by a few steps so you only saw peoples lower half on the near side of the street, but Grinch Village always has an interesting assortment of characters even in partial view.
Anyway, there was almost no one in the place, however, two young guys came in and sat down at the curved end of the bar towards the door. One fellow was a bit more heavy set, the other slighter. The slender one being the cuter...I wasn’t exactly causing, but I did notice him. We might have exchanged a look or two while they were conversing and having their drinks.
I was a bit disappointed as I watched them depart...losing the only eye candy in the place.
To my astonishment, moments later the cute one returned in a rush and came over to me and charmingly explained, “ I only have a moment as I told my friend I left his wallet, but really I came back to give you my number. My name’s Peter”.
Breathlessly I grinned into his huge blue eyes and said, “My name’s Jason and of course I’ll call”!
After he pretended to find his wallet, I watched his shapely backside exit the bar a second time...I was in a delighted daze.
As I said I have no idea why I was in the bar at that afternoon, perhaps it was kismet or fate...or, just a happy romantic accident...
We met, so we must have been meant to meet...
Certainly when Peter and I kissed, it felt we were meant to kiss.
