While preparing to be a minister, Jonathan Edwards penned 70 resolutions that would guide him in the years to come. About 20 years later, he wrote a letter to a young convert named Deborah Hatheway, who had asked for advice on living the Christian life. These two short works, where have been often reprinted and referred to in the several centuries that followed, are literally overflowing with straightforward, Bible-based advice.
