あらすじ・解説
Royalty and Loyalty: Women Who Loved the Lord presents nine women. Some were either queens or princesses, but all possessed loyalty to our loving Lord. Some women have their birth name stated, and others are simply unnamed women in the Bible. In one way or another, each of them represents each and every one of us.
The first story is about Sarah and Hagar. Sarah, being somewhat of a princess/queen, is the wife of Abraham, who is the leader of the clan. Hagar, who was given by Sarah to Abraham as his second wife, was loyal to listening to YHWH. The next three stories are all about real queens, Queen Esther, The Queen of Sheba, and Queen Amuhia. Each of these stories will give you a bit of history and a different point of view. You are probably familiar with the first two queens, but you might be wondering who is Queen Amuhia: She is King Nebuchadnezzar’s wife. These five women are all found in the Old Testament.
The final four women are Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of Jesus, and two unnamed women all are from the New Testament. Their loyalty to the Lord affords them royal status in the kingdom of God.
Many people are familiar with the following two women: Mary Magdalene, who was known as a disciple of Jesus, and also as the Apostles to the Apostles. The other familiar woman is Jesus’ mother, Mary, who is royalty in a special way.
The first unnamed woman of loyalty in this book is the Samaritan woman. She is also known as the Woman at the Well. Her encounter and witnessing for Christ are a role model for us to be witnesses to others. The final unnamed woman you will encounter is called the Syrophoenician woman. Her story brings together God’s plan for all of us as she is the only Gentile in these eight stories. The inclusivity for all nations, peoples, and cultures was always God’s plan for his children. We are all sinful and these women’s courage and bravery enabled them to become loyal in their following of the Lord.
Similar to my first book, Bible’s ‘Bad’ Girls…Stories of Some of the Lesser Known Brave and Courageous Women, I have included facts, study questions, and a prayer after each story. In addition, at the end of each story is a short sermonette entitled Nourishment for the Soul.
