あらすじ・解説
Being king of the Draugr is shaping up to be more difficult than Erik anticipated.
Erik never thought fatherhood would be easy. Now that he knows he has a daughter Mia, he wants to protect her from the Ulfen - wolf shifters - and the other vampires in Stockholm. Nika isn’t so sure Mia needs protecting. Soon, Erik and Nika will need to protect themselves because old grudges die hard.
Not only does he have to deal with the power vacuum created by the deaths of the First, but he and Nika have to deal with addicted vampires, taking over a business, and planning a wedding. On top of all of this, his daughter Mia is on the run with a rogue werewolf. She thinks that the vampires hunting her were sent by her father.
He needs to find her before those Draugr do because there’s no guarantee that they’ll bring her back in one piece. Nika has no love for Mia, considering everything she did to Erik, but she’s his flesh and blood, his only surviving child. Can he find her before the hunters do? And if he does, what will happen when he brings her back to Stockholm and his new bride?
For Nika, life as Draugr Queen is a head-trip she’s not quite ready for. She has a wedding to plan, more magic to learn, a truce to help broker, and the Dark Sisters’ narcotic ring to break. Add in a surly soon-to-be stepdaughter, and she might just want to take Erik and leave it all behind, ruling be damned.
There’s a lot in the air, and the pieces are moving. Who’s really in charge of this life-sized chess board, and what will be the final gambit?
This is a stand-alone with a happily ever after ending and no cliff-hangers. This book also contains several additional bonus stories to enjoy!
Warning: This book contains graphic scenes of a sexual nature and is not intended for listeners under 18.
