あらすじ・解説
Well known author, priest, seminary educator, Rev. Donald Cozzens explains why everyone should speak the truth in love for the betterment of all. Clearly and concisely he shows the importance of the laity, religious and clergy at all levels to express their deepest beliefs and to listen carefully to those who might have a different set of convictions. The Church from his perspective is that it is the last feudal structure left in the west. This helps explains why the Church mishandled so much of the contemporary sex scandals that have hurt the people of God so deeply. The post World War II laity in the U.S. is highly educated and has bright, questioning minds, which need to be both utilized and addressed. The Vatican II vision of the Church laid the foundations for going beyond a feudal understanding of the Church and has presented an understanding of Church as a community of the people of God. In explaining the dynamics of institutional psychology and dynamics, Cozzens helps the listener to more courageously carry out the mission of the Church without inadvertently destroying the institution.
