あらすじ・解説
Are you glad to be human? Aren't you just what this world needs?
Wouldn’t it be great to just feel proud to be human? Not because you are a certain nationality or race or sex or because you have achieved something amazing. Just proud because you possess an amazing design. This book is a reminder of how important you are as a human being regardless of anything else about you. It is for those who are fed up with looking to politics and religion to find answers to our problems. It is for those who are discouraged by the failure of technology and education to make our world better. It turns out, human beings are designed to be just what this world needs.
Dr. Strauss explores the ways we have lost touch with our human design and explains how to regain what has been taken from us. He challenges us to remember and embrace our greatest gift and privilege—we are created in the image of the Creator!
Listen to this book, and you will go away convinced that you must never give up to this world what the Creator has designed for it!
Human beings are designed for both individuality and community. This is a direct result of being created in the image of God with body, mind, and spirit. When fused together by hope for a greater good, these components of our design produce enormous energy. This energy makes it possible for us as human beings to create love and meaning in our world as a reflection of our Creator.
We fail to reach this potential because we choose to believe the lies of our culture instead of having faith in our divine design and the Wisdom of our Creator. This failure can only be corrected if we learn how to properly express our humanity using authority, dignity, and virtue. Safeguards are needed to keep these three basic, and uniquely human, functions from being usurped by our egos. We must adopt wise attitudes and habits so that authority does not become exploitation, dignity does not become self-centeredness, and so that virtue does not become self-righteousness.
The true importance of being human is ultimately revealed by submitting ourselves to a relationship with the Creator. This relationship is possible only because the Creator entered our story as a human being. Jesus came to restore authority, dignity, and virtue to humanity by sacrificially going before us into a new spiritual domain set up on earth. Those who, by faith, partner with Jesus are specially equipped with His Life and Spirit to restore order and beauty to creation by creating love and meaning in their everyday lives. In the end, all creation and all who have trusted Jesus will be filled with the glory of the Creator. For now, we are exactly the agents this world needs for real change. We should to be proud to be human, carrying the image of our Creator for all to see.
