あらすじ・解説
What were the millennial beliefs of the Apostles and church leaders of the first century? What did John himself, and his disciples teach about the millennium? What was the belief of the churches of Asia Minor to whom John directly wrote the Revelation? Is it likely that those who associated with John and were taught by his disciples, would have also taught exactly the same view that John held on the subject?
All very good questions. If Millennialism was the intended view of the Revelation he received, it would follow that those who knew him would affirm the position which he held. The history alone demands a reassessment of all of the detractors of chiliasm. It is the duty of every true Christian, especially the Amillennial proponent who holds himself out as a teacher, to attempt to first harmonize Revelation 20 with all of the texts that they instead conjecture for its overthrow.
Is it not fitting that an era without Satanic influence has a place in redemptive history, in order to demonstrate that man is without excuse? Those that fain that without the influence of Satan and his demons, they would have done good, will learn that they would have rejected the truth with or without him.
I will in this volume, show that Revelation chapter 20 is to be understood by the plain reading of the text, and not to be taken as symbolic. That in fact, the terminology that is symbolic, is plainly shown to be so in the text, and that those symbols are clearly explained in the scripture itself. Chapter 20 is simply meant to be an overview, a history in advance, for the consolation of the saints, to which there would be no purpose to veil it in cryptic prose.
