このコンテンツについて
It all started with the best sex of my life when I met my wife. When I met her, I proceeded to hang on for the rest of my life. Which in turn led to our wedding, and then the honeymoon in Punta Cana. My mother paid for our two-week honeymoon in the DR.
We stayed at an incredible all-inclusive resort and went outside of the resort to explore.
We had some incredible experiences and saw the DR through a new set of eyes P.B. Dye. His family has lived in the DR for quite some time. He and his dad have both built golf courses on the island.
After meeting P.B., I thought to myself that the DR might be a good place to try a new business venture. The DR was in its infancy, and if you could get set up there you could make a lot of money. A few different guys had already blazed the trail with other ventures. They had done quite well. So I thought let us give it a try (wow what a ride we were about to take).
After the honeymoon, we came back to Canada. I talked it over with my business partner (mom), and she said, what the hell lets check it out. So a mentor/confident and his wife made a trip back over to the DR to check it out a little more closely. I was talking to P.B. before we went back. He said he knew the owner of the airport, and he would set up the airport with VIP for me (I had no idea what this meant). We set up the trip.
The airport at Punta Cana was an open air concept, where just the main buildings had thatched roofs over them. The planes pulled up outside, and everyone had to walk along the tarmac to get to customs. When we arrived, we walked down the stairs of the airplane onto the tarmac, where a dude was standing with a sign and a golf cart. The sign had my friends name, and my name on it. We jump into the cart and proceed to drive past tons of people walking from all the planes that had pulled into the airport. It was the coolest feeling. Then we bypass the long line waiting to enter the country. We get our own customs agent. It took about 15 mins to clear customs and get our luggage.
We got settled in our rooms and headed out to explore a couple of different business’s to invest in. P.B. had set us up with a great realtor, Karl. The man lives his whole life in a threesome. He has two girlfriends at all times (and I mean all the time).
So Karl takes us around the area and shows us some of the bar type businesses. My dad always said, “do not stray from what you know how to do”. I have been in the bar industry my whole life, so this only seemed the natural way to go. We met with Julio (snake number one, you will find out later why I say this), a Columbian guy who owned half of a strip club/brothel/carwash (Pachi Pachi) all rolled into one.
He was not happy with his partner and wanted to take him out of the business. This idea was looking pretty good at the time. Every bar outside of the resorts has ladies of the evening working out of them, it is a way of the world over there. I will explain that later.
After our meeting with Julio, this seemed the way to go. I asked P.B. to recommend a lawyer that I could use. He suggested Marcella. She and her husband lived in the capital but also had a house at Casa de Campo (right beside La Romana). We had our meeting with her and explained what we would like to do. She agreed to help us (for a small nominal fee of course).
We then met with Julio again and explained my idea to take out his partner. Then I told him about my idea of tearing down the existing carwash and blowing out the walls of his little club that was already there.
He really liked this idea and we shook hands. My friend and I boarded a plane back to Canada.
