このコンテンツについて
What made me different from my siblings as I was growing up in the suburbs of New York City was that I preferred to have a carefree and very often, quite reckless attitude toward life. When you're 10, you don't really think about making the family proud. All I could think of was doing my chores and getting to hang out with my friends. But suddenly, one hot sunny day, I came home to a rude shock. My mother had decided to leave my father, even though he claimed he loved her. You see, by now, I was well past my "always out in the sun" chapter. I had begun to look at people and had begun observing their facial expressions and begun to formulate stories and situations that they were in. More often than not, I was right about what they were thinking as well.
My mother never looked back on the day she decided to leave my father as she forged ahead to meet the challenge of raising her final three children with the help of my older siblings. I realized then that I had a very therapeutic effect on people. Whether it's about the tiniest incident or a life changing one, you actually feel better when you talk to someone about it. But even greater than talking is the art of actively listening. I tried it out with many people, friends, relatives, even random strangers sometimes. It got me interested in watching people and wondering about the human mind.
I was 16 by this time and at an important threshold in my life. As you can see, I was at a cross road in my life and decisions in my home did not come easy. I buckled myself down, and got the necessary education to build a decent life for myself. Over the years, having read a lot about the human mind and psychology, I had always wanted to do something with helping people to achieve their goals. Now, it is with great hope and admiration for the noble profession of “Life Coaching” and helping individuals that I seek to carry out my never ending dream of “helping people to help themselves".
