Our summer with guests 😉! In the current episode Linda is talking to Rachel about intuitive eating. It goes well beyond food into politics of our eating culture or rather diet culture – full of chauvinism, able-lism, racism and more, digging out the roots of judgment when it comes to food, feelings of not being worthy, not being good enough when we don´t uphold the current cultural standards of healthy eating (and of body shape).
Eating intuitively, mindfully, without judgment and shame is a way to a healthy body, moreover it creates a healthy and happy mind. It is full of acceptance, gentle steering and most of all mental freedom. Being free from thoughts about food, imposed by our diet culture (and diet industry), frees up our mental energy to spend it in a more meaningful and fulfilling way.
Rachel´s eight-week course on intuitive eating, mindfulness and meditation in line with Buddhist philosophy is out soon.
Rachel is an anti-diet dietitian who provides intuitive eating and mindfulness instruction to clients through a Buddhist lens, incorporating factors of the noble eightfold path into her offerings with the goal of reducing suffering and promoting liberation.
