    As the resurrection of Christ is the climax and core of the gospel message, so the incarnation is the foundation and strength of the gospel message. Paul declared to Timothy: 'And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness - God was manifested in the flesh (the incarnation), justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on the world, received up in glory (the resurrection).' The testimony of God regarding the incarnation is extremely crucial. Indeed, the validity of our testimony is contigent upon the veracity of God's testimony!     John wrote his epistle in order that the joy of the believer would be full. Christ came, was incarnate, in order that His followers would have joy (John 15:11). Hence, the joy of the believer ought to be a reflection of the joy of Christ in them. The genuiness of this reflection is revealed in the consideration of whether, or not, we are walking in the Light. God is light.
