Hailing from the streets of Washington DC, Lamont and his brother grew up homeless and eventually found the sport of boxing. Rising to the top, it was in 2012 Lamont upset the odds and beat the then 140lb king Amir Khan in controversial fashion. With a rematch being scrapped due to Lamont failing a drug test, he progressed with his career fighting other names including Danny Garcia and Errol Spence.
