  • 5Tips & Tricks: Executive Director of Bowl Season- Nick Carparelli

    This week's guest: Nick Carparelli has become synonymous with football. He started his career as a graduate assistant at Syracuse, where he helped the Orange to a win against Colorado in the 1993 Fiesta Bowl. He would then go on to Notre Dame as a football administrator where he coordinated all recruiting efforts, created travel and gameday itineraries and oversaw NCAA football compliance matters. After Notre Dame he went on to become Director of Operations for the New England Patriots during the team’s first Super Bowl championship season. Following his time with the Patriots he became Senior Associate Commissioner for the Big East Conference. He served as the conference’s primary football administrator, overseeing operations, officiating, bowl relationships, television and scheduling. From the Big East he went to Under Armour as Senior Director of College Sports leading the brand’s collegiate sports marketing efforts. Currently he serves as Executive Director of Bowl Season, a position he has held since 2019. In his role he leads an organization that is responsible for the coordination and tradition of the college football bowl system.     This week’s guest: Chris Fuller is a veteran specialist in athletics external operations as well as college administrator with over 30 years of experience. He graduated from Shepard College and earned a master’s degree in Sports and Fitness Management from West Virginia. Following West Virginia he began his career as the assistant sports marketing director at UNC. He went on to work notable athletic organizations such ACC Properties, Gund Sports Marketing and the Cleveland Cavaliers. His resume includes multiple higher education institutions serving in roles such as Deputy Athletic Director. While working in the college setting he was involved in high profile coaches searches, negotiating large contracts and even helped to develop an on campus broadcast networks and studio.   • 5Tips & Tricks: Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Jacksonville University - John Galloway
    2024/09/03

    This weeks guest: John Galloway is a dynamic force in the world of men’s lacrosse. Todays guest was a star goalie at Syracuse University being two-time First Team All-American at the position and the only goalie in Orange history to earn the honor twice, he also is the only goalie in NCAA history to win national championships in his freshman and sophomore years. Playing professionally, he was a member of the Rochester Rattlers named Rookie of the Year, and twice earned Goaltender of the Year. A two-time MLL All-Star winning three MLL Championship. He ended his playing career in 2021 as a member of the Chrome. He captained the U.S. Men’s National Team that won gold at the FIL World Championships in Israel. He started his coaching career as a volunteer assistant for Duke followed by a four year stint as an assistant coach at Providence. In 2016 he was named head coach of Jacksonville University.     This week's guest: A passionate ice hockey player, this woman spent four years on the Cornell University’s ice hockey team. Upon graduating from Cornell she got her graduate degree from Syracuse Falk College in Sport and Venues management spending a year as an intern in the Syracuse University athletic department. Upon graduating from Syracuse she started working for SMG now ASM Global as a facilty manager at the McFetridge Sports Center. She has continue to rise up in the ranks of ASM moving to historic Soldier Field first being an operations manager and now being the director of operations. In her current role she oversees over 35 full time staff members and numerous part time staff as well as manage a multi million dollar budget.     This week's guest Anthony DiFino is described as dynamic, hard working, creative and always looking to be at the forefront of athletics. A college student athlete and then a marketing assistant at Fordham he went on to focus on ticket sale joining the IMG Learfield team with roles at Columbia and Army. Staying at Learfield IMG he became Northeast Regional Manager overseeing properties like Akron and Penn State. After leaving IMG Learfield he expanded his career, he spent time at Syracuse overseeing ticket sales, corporate partnerships and marketing before going on to his current role as deputy athletic director of external operations at Cincinnati.
