  • #12 (Part 2) Pursuing his passion and overcoming the competition - MS in Computer Science!
    2022/08/05

Computer science (CS) is one of the most sought-after fields of study and one of the most competitive too (acceptance rates at leading programs are usually 10-15%, and can be as low as 2%!). Over 90% of prospective master’s students that approach me want to pursue a master’s in computer science or one of its sub-domains at a highly-reputed university in the US.

Have you ever felt that what you're doing is way different from what you envisioned?

Hang in there. Roshan felt the same way before his master's, but that job was exactly what helped him get a great job that he loves and is passionate about down the line. So, do not take your position for granted and believe that it will lead to something better.  In the second part, Roshan gives some great advice for prospective #computerscience #students and #jobseekers, including his experiences with #interviews!

In this week’s episode (divided into two parts) on #afterthemaster, Roshan discusses how competitive CS admissions and securing employment can be, especially for international students. He further talks about nearly securing an internship at a massive #tech company and the attitude he developed, which helped him tremendously later.
