  • As I see it: Let’s be safe this deer season!
    2024/11/22
The deer opener. It’s finally here. It’s time to pack our gear and head to deer camp. But before we hit the woods, let’s review some hunter safety basics. Always wear your blaze orange or your bright pink. It keeps you visible to hunters, and it also keeps you compliant with the law. Remember, no deer is worth risking your safety or the safety of others. Always point your muzzle in a safe direction, keep your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to shoot, and only shoot once you’ve identified your target and know what’s beyond it. If you’re in a tree stand, make sure it’s secured before you climb it. And always put on your safety harness. A fall from even just a few feet can cause serious injury. And never, ever climb in or out of your deer stand with a loaded firearm. Let’s make this a memorable deer opener but for the right reasons. Hunt smart, stay safe and bring home the big one! • U.S. Department of Education: A failure
    2024/11/15
As I see it, I’m Andy Parish. For over 40 years, the U.S. Department of Education has been a black hole for taxpayer dollars. We’ve thrown billions into the system, yet reading and math scores are plummeting, literacy rates are barely hanging on, and we’re lagging behind other countries in STEM. How much money would you throw into a rusty old car before realizing, Hey, it’s time for an upgrade. That’s what we’ve been doing with the Department of Education. It’s not an engine for progress. It’s a clunker that’s draining resources while our kids fall further behind. Trump’s plan to shut down the department is long overdue. It’s been a decades long crisis, only getting worse and has only consistently failed our children. It’s time to empower local school boards and give them the resources they need to provide our kids with a quality education. Let’s invest in our future and put an end to this failed experiment. Our kids can’t afford to wait any longer. I’m Andy Parish on WIZM.

  • As I See It: Unity?
    2024/11/09
For As I See It, I’m Andy Parrish. Kamala Harris calling for “unity”? That’s just precious. Coming from the same party that treated Trump like the main event in their own twisted gladiator game? They weaponized every corner of government—FBI, DOJ, IRS—against him. If they could’ve sicced the mailman on him, they would have. For eight years, “unity” was the last thing on their minds. They dragged this country through two impeachments, endless hearings, investigations, witch hunts galore—and all they got was a big, fat zero. But now, because they’re the ones feeling the heat, they think they can slap a COEXIST sticker on it, and we’re all supposed to sing “Kumbaya”? Hypocrisy is putting it lightly. This isn’t just a party out of touch with Americans; they’re out of touch with reality. I’m Andy Parrish on WIZM
