  • #230 - Ballyagran John Brady 5 Mile Charity race on Saturday October 12th
    2024/09/26

On a special Thursday episode of the Any Given Runday podcast, we chat with Tom Brady, who is organizing a 5-Mile Charity run and a 5k Fun Run in Ballyagran on Saturday, October 12th. The events will raise awareness for cancer research and funds for the Mid Western Cancer Foundation in memory of his father, John Brady, who passed away in February.

John Brady was a legend in the Athletics Community, running from North Cork AC and participating in 40 Dublin Marathon events!

Tom discusses his father's legacy as an avid runner and community helper, revealing how the event aims to honour that legacy while supporting cancer research. We talk about the logistics of organising the race, Tom's history with running, and an infamous Donkey Derby, which we've ALL seen online, that takes place in the area.

With the race two weeks before the Dublin Marathon, it's a perfect time to taper down the volume, get some speed in the legs and, more importantly, raise money for such a great cause!

So if you are anywhere near the North Cork/Limerick area on the 12th of October, you can sign up for the race by clicking the link below:

If you cannot make the race on the 12th of October but would still like to donate, there is a link below:
