It's the end of an era and so on brand. Rather than wait until a big round number, or until our 10th anniversary in January, this is the last episode of the Anywhere But Here podcast.

Ant and Tom explain all the reasons that have gone into this decision on the episode, but rest-assured that this is by mutual consent and is a decision that came about quickly and with no bad blood. In fact, this is a decision that will probably make our friendship better.

On our way out of the door we talk about all the movies and TV we've been watching in the last few month, just like normal, so it's not all bad news!

We've had a blast over the last nine and a half years and we sincerely thank each and every person that has listened, befriended us, sent us messages and especially become Supporters or Patreons. We may be back here and there when the mood takes us, so stay subscribed just in case.

Tom has been a very busy boy recently, playing rock-star with Sham69 and being an absolute workhorse with his writing so, in this episode, Ant is joined by Eric, a work colleague of his, to talk messed up science experiments and general geekery.

San Diego Comic-Con happened recently so they discuss some of the news that came out of there, including Marvel's huge panel where they basically laid out the whole of Phase 5 of their cinematic universe.

Eric is also a fan of Podcasts, thankfully, and gives a couple of recommendations.

On this episode of the Anywhere But Here podcast Tom and Ant catch up on what they've been doing in the last two weeks including a lot of TV watching for Tom and joining a Dungeons and Dragons group for Ant.

The Amber Heard vs Johnny Depp Trial was also discussed, but mainly from the point of view from how it's been represented on social media. Who should we believe, if either of them?

Finally, the Tories got a kicking in the local elections in the UK, which is always a nice thing to see and talk about, but who are their main rivals and will this be the way a general election goes?

On this episode of the Anywhere But Here podcast, Tom stages an intervention on Ant who took his family to see Wicked again... for either the seventh or eighth time.

But the conversation turns to Ant's meds and the Marvel TV show Moonknight, but eventually gets onto the main topic about how Netflix seems to be shooting itself in the foot, not just from raising prices during a global cost of living crisis, or even locking down the number of people who use each password, but also the fact they're adding adverts. Do people care enough to cancel their subscriptions? Is everyone unhappy about the changes? What's the best streaming service out there? All these questions and more are discussed, but feel free to pile in on the socials.

There's some good news too: Sir David Attenborough has been made Champion of Earth, which sounds like something from a comic book. Find out how we think he would have stopped Thanos.
