Atonement, Mercy Seat, and the Penal Substitution Theory

  • サマリー

  • In the 40th episode of Doctrine 4 Doxology, I continue discussing the Priestly work of Jesus Christ. He holds a threefold office of Prophet, Priest, and King. This episode makes connections of Hebrew, Greek, and English words about the atonement. I then discuss the Mercy Seat and some translation options for hilasterion in Romans 3:25. At the end, I give an overview of several common theories of the atonement, concluding the Penal Substitution Theory is most accurate with the Bible.
