It's hard to believe that we've completed season 2!  In this episode we recap season 2, some of the cool things that have been happening off camera and talk about how offering retention bonuses instead of sign on bonuses could help departments keep their best talent.

Unwinding, relaxing, winding down after a shift, what to do on the weekend, and before and after shifts. How do we find ways of enjoying ourselves away from work, and what kinds of hobbies are healthy and don't take us away from our families for too long?

If we find out entire identity in what we do for a living, whether that is serving in the military, as a police officer, fire fighter, paramedic, police officer, etc, etc, and something happens that ends our career, we can easily end up in an emotional tailspin, fall into depression, or worse. Let's talk about it. 

Our Fire Fighters, EMT's, Paramedics, and Police Officers see things that no human being was ever meant to see. Let's talk about it. 

The few, the (hopefully) humble, the chaplains. What is it exactly that we do?

Let's talk about a little perspective.

Do we need reform in certain places? Absolutely. But we are letting the Media tell us what to think and how to feel and act and react instead of thinking for ourselves. It's time to wake up America. 

When our Veterans returned home from Vietnam, many of them faced attacks in airports and at the pier by people how felt entitled to label them baby killers, and the harm that inflicted on an entire generation of our servicemen and women is still echoing today. We run the risk of doing that same harm to an entire generation of our nations police officers.
