  • サマリー

  • ADI AMD brings to you Beyond Borders Through Design, a Têtê-À-Têtê with Kiran Khan, Rohma Khan, Anam Khurram from Beaconhouse National University (BNU), Lahore.

We have much in common by way of joint heritage, does it ring true for contemporary design?

The conversation is on how design is approached by our immediate neighbours.

BNU Lahore is Pakistan's First Not-for-Profit Liberal Arts University, offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. While they share their design process and methods, feel free to send your questions in the registration form.

Kiran Khan has 25 years of teaching experience and is currently the coordinator of the Capacity Building Team for UNESCO where she is co-leading the project ‘Documentation And Promotion Of Cultural And Creative Industries Around The Selected Heritage Sites In Punjab’. Having done her Masters in linguistics from BNU, Lahore; Kiran has also studied fashion and textile design from La Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, France; Bunka College of Fashion, Tokyo, Japan and National College of Arts, Lahore.

Rohma Khan is an associate professor of the School of Visual Arts and Design, BNU, Lahore. Apart from teaching, she is an entrepreneur and artist and has been extended in community outreach. Under her stewardship, BNU won the Mac Jannet prize by Talloires Network, Tufts University, for the project, Hamnawa. Her latest exhibition ‘Dūje Pāse toṅ (From the Other Side): Art from the two Punjabs’ was showcased at The Reach Gallery Museum, Abbotsford, BC, Canada.

Anam Khurram is a researcher and facilitator at BNU’s textile department. Her expertise lies in embroidery and off-loom weaving. An avid theatre person, she writes plays.

The talk will be hosted by our very own, Anuj Sharma and Gauri Wagenaar.
