For the 2022 Arizona elections, Democrats are focused on "Bottom-Up" races -- the ones closest to the people -- and start at the bottom of our ballots.
A great example are school boards elections that will determine the future of public education in every district, city and town in Arizona. In this episode, we talk to Mary Gaudio (https://www.marygforsusd.com/home) and Robb Vaules (https://www.vaulesforsusd.com/) running in the Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD).
We find their issues in urban Maricopa County are the same issues and consequences faced in rural Kingman, small town Payson and tribal areas of the state. They are: the neglect of public school funding; the threat of universal vouchers -- rejected by voters in 2018 and back again -- that would put tax dollars in private school systems with no accountability, and the culture war attacks on educators and school board members across the state.
A big thank you to our sponsor the Maricopa County Democratic Party for its support. Please visit the MCDP website to volunteer your time and donate to help elect Democrats from the bottom to the top of the ballot in 2022.
