  • Saving America Week In Review 5_10_25
    2025/05/10
    • At 100 days into his presidency, Trump’s economy is looking fairly bleak. Though he has reported progress with tariffs and has definitely seen progress with immigration, this is still a worrisome situation.
    • In spite of claiming he’s ready to make a deal, Putin has defied Trump and launched missiles at civilian targets in Ukraine. So naturally, Zelensky and Trump are back to negotiating an aide deal.
    • In a strange update, an ISIS connection has been identified in the Bourbon Street terror attack.
    • Consumer debt has hit a record high, and some reports are claiming Americans are now worse off than people in Russia, Pakistan, and the Republic of the Congo.
    • If Trump hadn’t gone on and on about Canada becoming the 51st state, they would have a functional Prime Minister now instead of another useless liberal. Sad story for our neighbors to the north!
    • Just days after New York AG and Trump opponent Letitia James was accused of mortgage fraud, California Senator Adam Schiff was accused of the same. Only for Schiff, this means election fraud.
    • Juliane Koepcke fell 10,00 feet from an airplane then searched the Peruvian jungle for 11 days before finding help. What an incredible survival story!
    • Conservative voices are increasingly sidelined and marginalized at American colleges and universities as liberal extremism is encouraged to thrive and spread. Drs. Zachary Marschall and Matthew Garrett of Campus Reform join me as we ponder how best to fight this epidemic.
    • Even now I’m horrified that the illegal immigrant who murdered Laken Riley didn’t even get the death penalty.
    • Gavin Newsom, Karen Bass, and their bureaucratic failures are to blame for the Los Angeles wildfires, not climate change. It’s time to quit blaming sketchy science and work on basic fire prevention tactics, people.
    • What happens when a court orders you to arbitrate a dispute – but your company is supposed to litigate the same dispute? It turns out you’re subject to something called equitable estoppel.
    • New York’s mayor, Eric Adams, stands accused of taking bribes from foreign nationals and illegal campaign contributions, as is looking down the barrel of a lengthy investigation.
    • A professor didn’t meet the minimum standard for tenure promotion then sued the university for discrimination under Title VII.
    • The NTSB found marijuana likely played a role in a 2022 Oklahoma car crash that killed 6 high school girls. I can’t believe this still needs to be said, but weed is a hallucinogen, and driving stoned is stupid.
    • The recent surge in anti-Christian hate crimes is a worrying trend, underscores that we must unite to stand against terrorism and hate.
    • The Supreme Court overturning Chevron is a huge deal, and this has the potential to completely upend the administrative state.
    • There are lots and lots of benefits to having diversity in the workplace. But you can’t make diversity more important than merit if you want your business to be successful. That’s where DEI went wrong.
    • Consumer credit card debt has topped a staggering 1 trillion dollars.
