Bubba's Comedy

  • Hello, I'm Stephen James, and welcome to my podcast, Bubba's Comedy.

My love affair with stand-up comedy began in 2012, and it was love at first performance. The connection and shared enthusiasm with fellow comedians I met every weekend confirmed that I had found my true path. There's a saying that if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans. True to that, in 2015, my life veered off course. I wasn't just a comedian anymore; I became a survivor of gun violence after being shot in the face. Following years of rehabilitation and relearning to speak, I've embarked on a lengthy journey toward mental healing, facing PTSD and depression every day. However, it's on stage where I come alive, bringing happiness to audiences and briefly elevating their spirits. Through this podcast, I narrate my comeback to the stage and my second shot at life. You'll also listen to guests recount their tales, as we delve into the resilience that drives us along life's unforeseen journey.

My life motto: If there's a chance for something to go wrong it will but my luck it will always go wrong at the most opportune time
