  • Risk, Reward & Riverfront Cabins | Anupaya Cabins
    2024/09/11

On this episode, we're thrilled to have a conversation with Shan McLagan, owner of Anupaya Cabin Co. Shan shares her inspiring journey of moving from the bustling city of Montreal to the serene, sleepy beach town of Deep River in Eastern Ontario. With a background in running a yoga studio and an online clothing company, Shan and her husband faced numerous challenges and risks to create their dream of building a cabin resort.

We delve into the unique charm of Deep River, with its abundance of beautiful, deserted beaches and the fascinating history of the town being almost the perfect town as described in a McLean's article from the 1950s. Shan’s story is a testament to the power of following your passion, taking risks, and finding contentment in the simpler, quieter aspects of life.

Join us as we explore the highs and lows of building a cabin business, the importance of creating spaces for rest and healing, and the beauty of living authentically.

  • Slowing Life (& Business) Down | hinter
    2024/08/28

On this episode of the Cabin Culture podcast we get to chat with Emily Padan from hinter. Emily, along with her husband Mauricio, started and run this incredible cabin company based out of Montreal, Canada. It all began with Mauricio’s first cabin, which found immediate success once they began hosting and sharing it with others. From there they began to dream a little bigger, and think about how to create more experiences similar to this one, to allow others to really experience the impact of slowing life down and spending time in nature. Since then they’ve built several more cabins, and host other cabins under their brand. What was most notable in talking to Emily was her crystal clear focus on their brand, what it represents, and how to consistently communicate it via their website, copy and imagery. Because this is a particularly daunting challenge for a lot of cabin owners, Emily has a ton of wisdom to share on how you can reflect on your own brand, and start consistently communicating it to future and past guests. Let’s do it!
