Br Lim Geok Seng's sermon at YCCL, based on Mark 9:30-37, explored this topic. The disciples, despite not understanding Jesus' predictions of his suffering and death, were afraid to ask Him for clarity. Their fear of rebuke and shattered expectations held them back. Even Jesus, in his humanity, asked God questions during his deepest anguish, showing us that it is natural to seek answers from God, especially in times of pain. Instead of addressing their confusion, the disciples argued about who was the greatest, missing the deeper truths Jesus was teaching about humility and service.
