  • #73 Why i decided to Re-brand
    2023/06/09

Re-brand in process, and a full explanation as to why i decided to wave bye to "Adventures of a Geriatric Mum" and hello to "Chuffed".

I'm so proud to be a geriatric mum, i always will be. However, the name "Adventures of a Geriatric Mum" was more of a personal joke and without intending to, I've turned people off.

It's still the same podcast and the same host, just with a bit more sexy.

Thank you so much for listening and coming back for more. I'm so excited to be re-branding.

Follow on socials below, they've had a bit of a tweak, but still the same accounts

    Enjoy Sally x

  • #72 When did Crocs become cool?
    2023/05/19

Flip flop weather is upon us in the UK, possibly my favourite time of year. However, my feet are far from flip flop ready! They're shocking in fact, so bad that i'm even embarrassed to take them to a nail salon. haha. Whoever invented socks and sandals is clearly a genius. Since when did crocs become so cool? I was mocked years ago for my crocs and now they're literally all the rage, with them even being a favourite for the blokes!! I'm stunned. Or am i completely wrong and are they still a fashion faux pas?

We have also been swarmed with flies and mosquitos AGAIN for another year, i make it no secret, i absolute hate flies! They poo and vomit over everything. They are horrendous! So, i am looking for ways to clear the vile beasts from my house.

And the big rebrand is happening. Still the same great conversation and fabulous guests, just a new name and look that will keep you smiling and just the look of the word makes you feel great!!

Watch this space, its taking me a while to pull it all together!

Thank you for always listening. Reach out on socials below. Love Sally xxx

  • #71 Scary movies and the Finger fan.
    2023/04/28

After 2 1/2 weeks, i finally woke up in my own bed this morning. Roman is most definitely having a leap. He's beemn having restless nights and a nightmare, which you could tell scared the life out of the poor little guy. It was so upsetting to see him so upset in the middle of the night. Especially as he can't tell me what was scaring him. Bless him. I have never been a fan of scary movies. I was traumatised as a kid when i begged my brothers to let me watch some horrendous budget 80's horror, which scarred me for life. I still, however like to watch the fairly mild ones and with the help of my trusty finger fan, this is made bearable... it'll make sense. And if its soooo scary that i know it'll play on my mind when i sleep and give me nightmares, then theres alway some 'Pride and Prejudice' or old school 'Disney' before bed!

Make sure you're following me on socials below. Theres some really exciting changes happening and i'm starting to talk about it on insta... link below.

Thank you for stopping by and taking a listen

  • #70 He's not grumpy, he's non verbal
    2023/04/21

I've been meaning to record this episode for a while now, but have yet to feel the need to share this with everyone as its about my little man Roman. The reason why I started my podcast was to break down taboo's surrounding infertility and i keep coming across more and more taboo's as this podcast grows. Roman is now 4 yrs old and is non verbal. I don't really like using the term "non-verbal" as he isn't really. He can say some words, when he wants to and he babbles and is vey expressive all day long. He loves making noises and chatting away to himself. What i find shocking is how some people react when Roman doesn't respond. "Someones grumpy today" seems to be the most common response he gets, to which i always reply "he's not Grumpy, he's non verbal". This then leads to all sorts of diagnosis' from the general public, who don't know me or my son and feel the need to share what they would do. Awkward! Roman is delayed in speech and communication, but he understands everything you say to him and is very aware of energy and really picks up on good vibes. He starts school in September, which is scaring the life out fo me, so i am doing everything i can do, to make sure he has all the help he needs. Please reach out on socials below if you can relate to what i am sharing today, i would love to heard from you.

    Much love

  • #69 Easter or Christmas?
    2023/04/12

Easter over Christmas all day for me. I love Easter. The lighter evenings, the spring weather and the outdoor fun. Its been a fab Easter weekend for us, complete with our first Easter Egg hunt in the village, organised by me! I out did myself with my Girl guide and Blue Peter skills. In fact my wife and mothership points have been off the scale this weekend, by getting up at 4am and throwing a shoulder of lamb in the slow cooker for Sunday lunch.

Hope you enjoyed the Easter weekend, if it's something you also celebrate. I've a new muff after Roman chewed my other one and partially ate it! haha. I know the thought of sponge and cotton wool between the teeth can make some cringe, not my son. Plus, any tips on how to get rid of flies, i'd be grateful for the share. Since the death of our utility room spider, Terry, we have been invaded by flies and i absolutely hate them. They Poo and puke on everything, they're vile. Reach out on socials below. Thanks for taking a listen.

  • #68 What do you do with your wedding dress?
    2023/03/17

My muff is in pieces... it'll al make sense once you start listening. I'm still clearing out clothes and baby toys and walkers and jumperoo's etc and came across my wedding dress, which, after 9 years, i can't seem to part with. I loved my wedding dress and it was such an important part of my wedding plans, but now its just sat, dirty in a cupboard and i've never taken it out. I hope its still there! haha.

Any ideas welcome. Do i sell it?

The sun is shining today and for me this is a huge relief as i have really struggled with the winter months this year, it feels as though the cold weather has lasted forever and my feet are craving some flipflop action, life really is better in flipflops.

Thank you for taking a listen, reach out on socials below

  • #67 The Power of Networking
    2023/03/03

Are you feeling a bit stagnant? frustrated? lonely? Are your group of friends a reflection of who you are? or who you want to be? When my career in radio ended and i embarked on my journey with IVF, i literally squirrelled myself away from everyone, even the women who i had the most in common with and could relate to. Why? i don't know, i was scared, confused, desperate to be a parent and never imagined that i would have been in that situation. In launching my new business in the car trade, i've realised i ned to put myself out there again. Yes, i'm scared and feeling a little awkward and uncomfortable, but i'm fully aware that this is what needs to be done to achieve my dreams and goals.

Do you go networking? Do you enjoy the company of others who are on your wavelength? Networking is so powerful and can lead to so many new friendships, opportunities and connections.

Just from getting out of my own way and booking onto an event last year, it has opened up some incredible doors for me. Including access to the fully funded business course, i am now on... Who knew eh?

Whether you want shifts in your business or personal life, i highly recommend putting yourself out there and start raising your A game.

Other highlights of todays episode... Roman is 4! xxx

  • #66 Guest Speaker: Judi Hastings, Personal Coach, Talks 'The Menopause'.
    2023/02/14

I am a big believer in just 'Putting it out there to the universe", I'm not great at 'Trusting the universe to make it happen."... just yet.

Towards the end of last year I started networking with my new business. It's something that i have not done for a long time and was therefore a little apprehensive and nervous. On the way there in the car i decided to do some affirmations, asking for new energy, new connections, opportunities and signs. It was at this event where i met todays guest speaker and a couple of other guest speakers were there too. And I met a gentleman who introduced me to the current business course, which i am now on. Who knew eh?!

I was so grateful to be sat on a table of hilariously funny, smart women at this event and sat next to todays guest speaker.

Judi Hastings is always immaculately dressed, she oozes class and yet has the most dirtiest laugh and sense of humour! She is infectious! Judi was sharing the work that she does with clients and corporate surrounding the menopause. Hang on a minute, i'm going to be going through this in a few years. So i listened. Judi speaks from the heart, having gone through the menopause twice. She has years of experience in the coaching field under her belt and the more and more events i attend, I keep bumping into people who know Judi, or are connected to her in some way.

She is so passionate about her work from coaching to retreats and most recently i met one of her personal clients who described her to me as 'just amazing'.

I am so grateful for you to meet Judi, she is relatable, caring and best of all bags of fun. This is an opportunity for you to learn how 'The change' which effects all women is not the end.

Reach out to Judi on socials below.
