    Of course, please, don't take my advice too seriously. Or at all. This is meant to be a fun podcast that's full of sweetness and light.


    But, as Dads do, I'll still try my best to share some easy—and possibly useful—tips, lessons, and frameworks you can apply right now to your life as a parent. You know, the kind of stuff I want to pass on to my kid so maybe one day he'll say, "You know, Dad always told me..."

    3. Learning to Cook as a Parent

    As anyone with a kid knows your relationship with food changes as they get older. As a baby, it's all about breastfeeding and precisely dosed bottles of milk and formula. Then solid food comes into play and suddenly food becomes a thing you have to think about. A lot. 


    Of course, as a self-certified meal, skipper, this is a problem. Especially when you're forced to confront the fickle gaping maw of a toddler, and with it, the knowledge that someday that cute smile will be a portal to a bottomless pit that we're responsible for filling. 


    And without an unlimited takeout budget or a private chef on the payroll, that means somebody has got to cook dang near every day.


    This is the story about the "aha" moment when we started to notice the frameworks behind cooking. The kind of stuff that makes it easy — or at least easier — to cook every day.
