Day 312 | Jerusalem is like a prostitute, whom God loves | Hebrews 9: The New Agreement

  • サマリー

  • Day 312 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE. Ezekiel 16 uses a metaphor to describe Jerusalem as an unfaithful woman. Despite God's care from her infancy and making her His bride, Jerusalem turns to idolatry, acting worse than a prostitute—paying others instead of being paid, and making alliances with foreign nations (representing false gods). God declares that He will punish her but will eventually establish a new covenant and restore her. In Hebrews 9:1-15, the writer compares the earthly tabernacle with its holy places and the high priest's yearly sacrifice with the heavenly tabernacle, where Christ entered once and for all. Christ, serving as the high priest of good things to come, offered His own blood, not that of animals, obtaining eternal redemption for us. This sacrifice cleanses our consciences from dead works to serve the living God, and it is the basis for the new covenant, allowing us to receive the promised eternal inheritance.
