  • Welcome back To the Table. Today is the first episode of us chatting about Colossians. This is a short book of the Bible, but it is packed full of encouragement for us. It was written by Paul, an apostle, as a letter to the church at Colossae. There’s a lot in this letter and we did our best to point out just a few things we can take away from these verses. The best thing about the Word is you could read these verses with us now and see something new. If you go back and read it again next year, you’ll see new things then too. It is living & active, remember 😉 It all begins with Jesus. It’s all about Him. After we’re saved, we continue to grow and learn more about him from the Word – that’s why we’re doing this. Let’s all grow and learn together 🤍

Tara Leigh Coble’s prayer for studying the Word:

    1. God, give me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
    2. God, let any knowledge I gain serve to help me love You and others more, and not puff me up.
    3. God, help me see something new about You I've never seen before.
    4. God, correct any lies I believe about You or anything I misunderstand.
    5. God, direct my steps according to Your Word.

1 Corinthians 3:6-9 – I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building.

Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Proverbs 19:2 – Desire without knowledge is not good, and whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way

James 2:19 – You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe—and shudder!

Galatians 5:22-23 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law

2 Peter 3:18 – But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

2 Corinthians 12:9 – But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Ephesians 3:16 – that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,

John 10:10 – The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
