For today's episode, the DetBlock Crew take a little time before going into some Star Wars conversation. However, you'll notice right away they dressed for the occasion, both being in Star Wars attire. Mike is dressed up as a Jedi and Dustin is sporting his inquisitor mask from Jedi Tales.

Right away, Dustin looks to vent with a recent Fantasy Football match up that took place within the Crew. That's right, Mike and Dustin went up against each other in FFB and it won't take long for you to figure out who won.

From there, the Crew looks to talk about their Halloween plans. When they recorded, it was the eve of Halloween. Both Dustin and Mike are excited to get their kids some more and new Halloween memories. What are their plans for dressing up? Will they go out to trick-or-treat? Does Star Wars mix into their plans? Come listen to find out.

They then get into the Star Wars talk as they discuss some recent news around Disney and the upcoming new film, New Jedi Order. This is the film that will focus on Rey and be about her rebuilding the Jedi though the creation of a new Jedi academy.

For this week's episode, the DetBlock Crew bounce around a little bit with their topics. To start out, they discuss some news revolving around a particular character from a Star Wars movie you may or may not be familiar with that will be returning in the upcoming Star Wars show, Skeleton Crew. If you've seen our title thumbnail, you know who we are talking about. Yes, we're talking about Teek from Ewok Adventures: The Battle for Endor. Crazy enough, Mike and his wife actually ran into the actress who portrayed Teek [Niki Botelho] and they didn't even realize it at the time. Funny story, AMAZING person!

Bogie and Mike then delve into the concept that Star Wars projects need to be written and created by people or teams that are fans of the franchise. Enough of the bringing in new people who have minimal to no knowledge of the Star Wars franchise, as Disney has specifically done with some of their projects. Instead, let's utilize people like Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, and hey... maybe some fan film creators! Kidding... kind of...

From there, the two guys start talking a little bit about the sequel trilogy and how jumping directors pretty much set that trilogy up for failure. What started with potential, ended with a project trying to quickly patch up the holes. Following that, they make a little comparison to what is going on with the Marvel universe and how confidence in that universe is waning as well and some of the reasons behind that.

After talking a little bit about the Ahsoka show, a new book being released centering around certain Acolyte characters, and some fan film productions, they then finish up their talk with more of Bogie's Clone Wars season one experience. As he pushes through more episodes of the show, he brings his insights and opinions on the episodes he's watched.

Halloween is just around the corner! Taking a little step aside from Star Wars, the DetBlock Crew discuss other great movies and shows that are perfect to watch during this time of year... horror and scary movies! Are you a slasher movie person? A psychological thriller person? A paranormal of scary creature movie person? Or maybe you're all about the fun and silly Halloween movies / shows? Find out what the Crew enjoy watching and what they are currently watching!

They then continue last week's discussion about how Star Wars could live in Halloween or horror movies. This time, Dustin brings his creative juices on what he thinks would be a good Star Wars thriller!

This then transitions the DetBlock Crew to revisit the conversation about whether or not Disney would ever give up the rights to the Star Wars franchise. Will they? Do you think they should? Would we want them to? You might be surprised by our responses!

For this week's episode, the DetBlock Crew bounce around a few topics. To start out, they discuss some updates and news that revolves around Comicon, whether it be current or upcoming ones. On that topic, they then go into some releases as it relates to 2025 Star Wars Celebration in Japan.

Next, the Crew decide to be a little festive to get into the Halloween spirit. As they have been watching some scary movies or Halloween classics, they discuss if the aspect of horror could be brought into Star Wars. Could the franchise we all know and love dip into that type of genre and release a Star Wars Halloween movie or series [outside of the LEGO version one]? What possible themes or aspects could be tapped in here?

Finally, Bogie catches us up with where he is at in his first time watching Star Wars Clone Wars. He's gone back to watch the Clone Wars movie and he is now up to episode 10 of season 1 of the show. He shares his thoughts and notes from his watching as Mike lives vicariously through him, wanting to go back and re-live his own first time watching the show.

The DetBlock crew might have started off talking a little bit about sports [hey, we love our sports!], but then they first dive in to talking a bit about Star Wars video games. News came out that Outlaws is underperforming, but there's still plenty of time for that to turn around. However, this could also just be a continuation of the times for the franchise and the, what some say, misses Disney and Lucasfilm have made recently. Either way, there are still plenty of fun Star Wars video games out there, and Bogie and Mike talk through a few of those.

They then go into an interview that was recently aired where Star Wars Theory sits down with Stuart Beattie and they talk about Stuart's plan and story line for the original content that was going to be released about Obi-Wan Kenobi. Originally, instead of a show, Kenobi was going to be brought to the big screen with his own trilogy and Mr. Beattie wrote the script for all 3 movies. With everything going on in the early 2020's, this ended up getting scrubbed, changed up quite a bit, and turned into a show. If you haven't already, go listen to this interview. The original plan for Beattie's trilogy is absolutely AMAZING and it's a shame we never got it; only elements of it in the #Kenobi show.

They then go into discussing some defining actors that just perfectly fit their character, inside and outside of Star Wars. From Heath Ledger as the Joker, William Shatner as Captain Kirk, Hayden Christianson as Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader, or Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, some actors just perfectly hit their mark. Unfortunately, for some of them, we lose them as soon as they bring those characters to life.

Finally, the Crew close with talking about Bogie's initial dive into the animated show #CloneWars. We are super excited to follow along with him as he lives through this for the first time. He's going to LOVE it!

First of all, the DetBlock team would like to introduce it's newest prisoner, Prisoner 005: Ben Ken-Bogie! With all of the chaotic things life likes to throw at us all, getting a full DetBlock crew together has been a little challenging. However, Bogie has graciously accepted the opportunity to join in on our #podcasst and #YouTube channel to talk #StarWars! Get to know Bogie and his passion for Star Wars through this episode and be prepared to see him join us in future recordings! Following that, the three of them look to pay homage to and speak praises of the late and great James Earl Jones, the voice behind our beloved Darth Vader. Even though its week old news, the release of his passing still holds very heavy to Star Wars and #movie / #film fans alike. No #villain will ever be as iconic as the one James Earl Jones brought to life.

The DetBlock Crew want to take the time to highlight a YouTuber they recently found who brings great satire to not only Star Wars projects, but many other major movie franchise projects. For today's episode, they watch Pitch Meeting's piece on Star Wars: The Acolyte. Mike has seen this before but this is Dustin's first time watching. Both were laughing hysterically throughout the video. Mike's face might still be red. Make sure to go give Pitch Meeting a sub!

Following that, they spend a little more time on talking about the Acolyte, but then shift over to talking about the newly released game, Star Wars: Outlaws. Lots of mixed reviews on the project, but people are overall enjoying it! Though the price point is expensive, both Mike and Dustin are eager to get the game and give it a whirl.
