Before we get into the meat of the episode we do talk briefly about some headlines from the week, including the price increase to Xbox consoles and accessories (coming soon to games), the recent layoffs at Polygon, the departures from Giant Bomb, and Rockstar's random GTA VI release date / delay announcement.

Then over in the Quest Log both Joel and Kyran have begun playing Split Fiction and offer their early impressions on Hazelight's latest co-operative adventure. Lastly, Kyran gets hyped about Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a new RPG from the French developers over at Sandfall.

The episode is a few days late due to us taking some time to relax over the long Easter Weekend, but we're back with a Quest Log focused episode!

First up Joel has checked out The Plucky Squire now that he's upped his PlayStation Plus subscription meanwhile Kyran has been trying to revive a mascot agency in Promise Mascot Agency. After all of that is said and done we both come together to try to wrap our head around Blue Prince, a recently released puzzle / roguelike game developed by Dogubomb (Tonda Ros) and begin to peel back its many layers.

The moment has finally arrived! Join us as we break down not one but TWO Nintendo Directs in a single episode.

First up we move through the final Direct for the Nintendo Switch with relative haste so we can take a much deeper dive into the reveal Direct for the successor, the Nintendo Switch 2.

We talk through the games, get nervous about prices, and Kyran expresses his desire for Nintendo to really break open Metroid Prime 4 Beyond to start generating even more hype for the upcoming game.

On this week's episode Kyran has played through Wanderstop, the newest game from the mind behind The Stanley Parable and The Beginner's Guide, which is a cosy, narrative game that was developed with the creator's experience dealing with burnout. Kyran has also started to dip his toes in Assassin's Creed Shadows and brings his very early thoughts to this week's episode.

Meanwhile in the Bonus Round we talk about the recent Silent Hill Transmission that went in on Silent Hill f and the reasons behind some of the changes the newest game brings to the series, plus we squeeze in a little time to get excited about the imminent Nintendo Direct for the Switch 2 due to broadcast on April 3rd.

On this week's episode of the show Kyran quadruple checked his recording input to avoid last week's unfortunate bungle as we return for another Quest Log focused episode.

First up Kyran talks a little bit about Nikoderiko: The Magical World, which is a charming platformer that borrows elements from the Donkey Kong Country Returns series and sprinkles some light Crash Bandicoot elements throughout all backed up my a David Wise soundtrack. We then tackle the core topic for this week, Monster Hunter Wilds, and both Kyran and Joel have put in a healthy amount of hours in order to bring you our thoughts.

There's always going to be something so satisfying about fighting a massive beast with a weapon that transforms from the a Great Sword to a Great Axe and then turning them into a pair of pants.

Firstly, apologies for the weird audio this episode. About 40 minutes into the episode Kyran's PC died randomly (thankfully Audacity was able to save the audio) but unfortunately upon resuming the recording Kyran cockily didn't check which microphone Audacity defaulted to and the result is what he sounds like in the second half of the episode. A one time disaster hopefully.

Rest assured Kyran has learned an important lesson about not trusting Audacity too much.

On this week's episode we get into our first Quest Log of the year as Joel gives TMNT: Splintered Fate the meekest of thumbs up before Kyran dives headfirst into his impressions from the recent closed network test for Elden Ring: Nightreign.

Meanwhile we return to Dope or Nope to work our way through Sony's recent State of Play!

New year, same us!

We're back for another year to talk about all things video games related but before we can do that we must spend our first episode looking back (and shaking off our holiday rust).

Joel and Kyran talk about some of their favourite games from 2024 including heavy hitters (such as Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Astro Bot, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth) and surprise indie successes (including Balatro, Animal Well, and Mouthwashing) including some shout outs to games games we are determined to play / finish in 2025.

Afterwards it is time to look ahead, which largely means we get excited over the possibilities of the highly anticipated Switch 2.

On the last episode of the year Joel and Kyran break down the 2024 Game Awards with a quick run-down of the years award winners before switching it up with a Dope or Nope in an effort to cut through the MASSIVE list of games that Geoff Keighley and the team managed to lock in for the 10th anniversary of the show.

Highlights that we naturally touch on include The Witcher 4, Elden Ring: Nightreign, Onimusha, the Okami sequel, and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
