Ever since Pip had a chance meeting outside a Progress Wrestling event at the Electric Ballroom in Camden and then witnessed Will rip it up, it's been a matter of time until the two got together in the podcast ring and got their verbal grapple on and talk pure wrestling goodness, which will be a joy to wrestling and non-wrestling fans alike... This week Pip catches you up on what's been developing in his section of the film making world.

Saying 'Pip catches you up" is a very broad sweep of an expression actually. If you follow Pip on socials and have been charting the moves in his making of 'Area Of Oustanding Natural Beauty' (the short-turned-long film backed by many on Kickstarter), you'll have seen him opening up in raw, emotional honesty about the decision to shelf the project. Shelf does not mean disappear. But it's a really sad position to be in, as the leader and instigator of the project. The feeling of responsibility, the feeling of letting multiple people down, not to mention the reality of a project not being realised to full potential after so much work being put into it. As well as the co-existing reality of the state of affairs of working class art being almost impossible to make right now.

Let's let Pip take the stage on this one though, and you'll also get a moment to hear the Instagram video which caught Pip at the most publically vulnerable stage of what you could call the creative grieving process. We are so used to hearing about the wins. The successes. The 'killing it' mindset. We don't often hear about the projects and ideas which didn't make it. She’s been making the rounds in promotion of her new starring role as ‘Cha-Cha’ in the amazing ‘The Umbrella Academy’, an adaptation of an equally amazing graphic novel, and she spent some time breaking down the whole experience with Pip in this rare interview. They get to cover a HUGE amount of goodies, ranging from her love of the script and its connections to real life, being educated in how to correctly beat up a person and do a ton of crazy stunts (until things got a touch too insane), the madness of the costumes, her love of learning and growth through roles, how she killed it in a Christmas play as a kid, growing up in the projects and how that didn’t allow much room for dreaming, her non-braggy style and, of course, her illustrious and celebrated music career (including her friendship and career beginnings with a young Notorious BIG!). From music to acting but without ever losing sight or sound of her backgrounds, it’s a heartwarming one here folks as you might expect from a true veteran of the entertainment industry. You’ll love it.

At times of course the whole subject can seem intimidating as, for sure, individually we can't solve this one. BUT - when we work together and realise the powers we do have, and work with what we can in the realms of our imediate surroundings first, there is a huge amount to be positive and hopeful for. This episode with Rosie will surely add to that feeling, and among so much more you'll hear how she found herself in this area and how career paths merged and blended, how to work with fossil fuel companies in a way which can make things better for the world in general as well as the employees, the idea of death by a million paper cuts when it comes to greedy and careless corporations, being strategic with movements and working with available skills and potential, the many shades of community action, and how ultimately we all get better through linking in our communities. As always, get a notebook or open the notes app, you'll do well to scribble some bits down!

A really great chance to hear from someone who could not be more involved with Greenpeace, in a capacity which has Areeba overseeing all that is happening in the company and from a vantage point which allows views into the - let's face it - incredibly shady world of oil companies. Companies which have seemingly taken notes from cartoon supervillains and considered it a good look. Areeba goes into really awesome depth with facts and knowledge (attributes which these days are not always celebrated) about such topics as the eternal bête noir of Shell, the doubling down of companies on all the bad behaviour, hiding research, greenwashing and sportswashing and public image, the David and Goliath energy of huge corporations chasing down movements like Greenpeace, how Greg from Succession foretold an event in Greenpeace's day to day, Shell's PR disaster, and how companies will always lose to humour and comedy. With the echo of the motto 'Stop Drilling And Start Paying' ringing in our ears, enjoy this episode with someone who can help shed some light on such sour times.
