  • Collaborating With Your Unconscious
    2023/10/26

We have a tendency to value the mind above all else:

When we’re faced with a difficult question, we turn to the mind.
When we’re trying to make a big decision, we turn to the mind.
When we want to manifest something into our lives, we turn to the mind.

We turn to the mind for all the answers we seek.

While the mind is an incredible member of our internal “team,” leaning solely on our cognitive understanding causes us to miss out on the fullness of this human experience. Beyond cognitive understanding, we all have access to a deep well of wisdom within us.

Our inner wisdom is alive and flowing – and just waiting for us to reconnect to it so that we can realize our fullest potential and cultivate the creative, fulfilling, expansive lives we know we’re meant for.

  • Embodiment: Awaken Your Intuitive Body
    2023/08/14

Those of us on the path of healing, awakening, and expansion are very familiar with our internal worlds – our feelings, thoughts, patterns, etc. – but so many of us are missing a deep connection to the body, to our embodied wisdom.

We know that the “body keeps the score” – but do we know how to read that score? Do we know how to access our body’s wellspring of wisdom and insight? Do we know what it feels like to be embodied – to feel the richness, the aliveness of our embodiment?

In this episode, Ariel focuses on two lines of inquiry: 1. Why does embodiment matter – and what we gain when we reclaim our embodiment? And 2. How do we reclaim our embodiment and awaken our intuitive bodies?

    Embodiment questions for reflection:

    • What is my current connection to my body like?
    • What happens when I encounter uncomfortable, unpleasant emotions and sensations?
    • What happens when I encounter pleasurable emotions or sensations?
    • How do I relate to these feelings and sensations? (Do I try to distract myself? Do I suppress? Do I get stuck feeling them over and over and over again? The first step here is really just noticing what your relationship is like with your emotions and sensations, noticing what patterns you have in place.)
    • Do I trust my embodied wisdom, my intuition? Why or why not?
    • How important is it for me to reclaim my embodiment?

  • Energetic Agreements: Our Patterns of Relating
    2023/05/28

We define energetic agreements as the subconscious, mutual patterns of engagement. In other words, we all have co-created, reciprocated patterns we enact and perpetuate with other humans (and ourselves)—patterns we initially put in place to keep us “safe”, but likely aren’t serving us anymore.

You know that feeling when you and your partner or a friend get into a funk or start to energetically feel “off” all of a sudden and for seemingly no reason? That's what we are talking about—how you are relating to each other in that moment, and specifically how you got there. These patterns often create themselves through assumptions and taking things personally. We assume someone's behavior means X, so we respond with Y, and then the other person makes an assumption about Y, and that's how we get ourselves into a mess.

In this episode, we explore how we can begin to recognize these patterns, how to create new ones, and the integral role our nervous systems play in this process.

  • The Discomfort of Transformation
    2022/08/07

When we can release our clinging to beliefs and identities (religion, relationship, worth through work), we make ourselves available to growth and the full experience of life. Our work then is to practice letting go and embrace the discomfort of the uncertainty that brings. This is how we find our true selves.

In this episode, we dive into the necessary process of letting go so that we can make space for our own transformation. Some call this awakening, enlightenment, or perhaps deconstruction and reconstruction, but regardless of what we name it and which areas of life it applies to, we find the practice essential to our boundless growth, permeating all aspects of life.

  • Stories of Inner Work: Self-Deprecation
    2022/06/28

Whatever your story, wherever you are in your journey—let it be messy. If we trust the process, we begin to find that there is always another way of being, however long it takes. In this episode, Brian unpacks his history of self-deprecation and outlines the stages of his inner work journey, from recognition to integration:

    • Recognize the thought-pattern or behavior, seeing it as something moldable.
    • Allow the discomfort and investigate its origin with patience.
    • Accept this origin and your response to it—the thoughts and behaviors—by allowing empathy to heal and reintegrate this lost part of yourself.
    • Transmute this old belief into something new by reclaiming the beauty hidden underneath the pain.

  • Setting Energetic Boundaries with Yourself
    2022/06/10

When we think of boundaries, we often think of boundaries we must set with others. However, some of the most important boundaries we can set are within ourselves in regards to our own mental and emotional energy. Doing so is a crucial aspect of taking responsibility for our experiences and our lives.

In this episode, Ariel and Brian dive into setting energetic boundaries—specifically, analytical and emotional boundaries. These boundaries start with an awareness of what's going on within our minds and bodies—with our emotions, thoughts, and reactions. As we go deeper into the inner work, we notice certain patterns we keep returning to that feel outdated such as overthinking, ruminating, dissociating, and withdrawing. These patterns once kept us safe but if they are no longer necessary, how do we gently transmute their power into something that better serves us?

By setting energetic boundaries with ourselves, we can create new patterns that support and strengthen a new way of being.

  • Cultivating Conscious Partnership
    2022/05/14

When we make the conscious decision to show up fully in our relationships, we begin to see new possibilities we previously thought were unrealistic or too idealistic. In this episode, we talk about how we have been cultivating our own conscious partnership with each other—the challenges we have faced, the beauty therein, and the various practices and language we use to better understand and create space for each other (and ourselves) in order to avoid what we call the "Bicker Track" of relationship.

  • The Power of Rest and Play
    2022/04/25

Rest and play are two powerful allies on the journey of inner work. In this episode, we examine common misperceptions of rest and play here in the West and offer up a new narrative based on neuroscience for why quality rest and play are vital to our growth and well-being.

We also take a look at the signals our bodies give us when we are in need of rest, as well as share some of our personal favorites in how we rest and play, though of course there are a thousand other ways you might prefer instead.
