  • The outbreak of Covid 19 has left the country shut its doors to control the spread of the corona virus that leads to disruption in the lives of people. Education of more than 300 million students worldwide got disrupted by the spread of Coronavirus. Schools and universities haven’t faced this level of disruption in generations. But unlike any time in the past, we have the ability to continue education even when schools close. Around 63 million primary and secondary teachers around the world are affected by school closures in 165 countries due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They are on the front-lines of the response to ensure that learning continues for nearly 1.5 billion students across the globe, a number that is predicted to rise. The sudden closure of schools during COVID-19 has left many teachers uncertain about their job, future and their role to play. Many of them are unable to use current technologies effectively to communicate and teach, and unprepared for classroom challenges when colleges reopen. The pandemic has brought digital tools into picture on emergency basis, for teaching and communication during the crisis. It is true that high-quality education certainly requires human interface and good teachers are “irreplaceable” by technology, but the point is that, teachers must be supported in multiple ways, to be effective in unpredictable circumstances like corona pandemic.
