Expectations and hope were at a new level after that January win over the Green Bay packers giving the Lions a 9-8 record to end the season.
By our estimation… With a record of 12-5 in 2023, a division title and two playoff victories and a half time lead in the NFC Championship game, that season and team lived up to the hype.
The following season of the Hype Train expectations grew, how could they not based on the trajectory of the team ever since Brad Holmes & Dan Campbell arrived under the leadership of Sheila Hamp. Lions were on Sports Illustrated to start the season..
As we all know the Lions went 15-2, but had a quick exit in the postseason.
So here we are, entering year 3 of the Hype. Were expectations met last year? And the question now is, does the hype still exist or is it wearing off? Does that even matter at this point?
