Almost finished with our episodes on the history of stand-up comedy... now we delve into the creation of stage personas, stage names and gimmicks as well as the beginnings of non-white comedians entering the scene. This started with black comedians primarily on the chitlin' circuit, how Dick Gregory influenced a generation of white audiences by sitting on a couch, and the introduction of native comedians which trended for a little while before disappearing into obscurity again. He has performed throughout the country and for the troops overseas. His energetic performances and unapologetic views on contemporary society have made him one of the most in-demand comedians on the West Coast.
