Today we begin a series of episodes called "The Commitment Series". In part 1, Cody talks about our commitment to Discipline. One of our 3 statements of belief at The Joshua Project is Stability Through Discipline: We commit to a life of discipline in mind, spirit, and body.
Here are 3 areas of discipline that will help you better lead by the Spirit and the principles of God's Word:
1. Discipline your mind - remind yourself daily of the promises and commandment to love Him above everything and love others as you love yourself to keep your mental state in a place of joy and growth.
2. Discipline your spirit - Be intentional with times of devotion and reading God's Word as well as times of prayer. We have to be intentional with this and shift our mindset from these being tasks we check off of our list, to being food and nourishment to our spirits.
3. Discipline your body - We're going to commit to making healthy choices in our nutrition and what we consume. We're going to commit to exercising in some way, every day.
Discipline isn't always fun, but it produces a joy we can't access otherwise in the result.
