In this episode of the Faculty Focus podcast, Dr Aleem Ahmed (Consultant in Infectious Diseases and General Medicine but also Clinical Tutor for Locally Employed Doctors) and I discuss the support offered to Locally Employed Doctors (LEDs) at University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL).
We explore the various titles of these doctors, the development of the ClinicalFellowship Programme, and the unique challenges faced by International MedicalGraduates (IMGs). Aleem highlights the support structures in place for LEDs, the benefits they bring to the Trust, and future initiatives aimed at enhancing their training and integration into the NHS.
