Belona Sonna is an artificial intelligence (AI) ethics researcher. She serves as policy manager of ethics and gender issues at AfroLeadership, where she advocates for the insertion of ethical technological solutions in Africa in general with a strong interest in women that are more often marginalised when it comes to technology.
She is a PhD candidate at the Humanizing Machine Intelligence group at Australia National University. She is involved in projects and platforms that are committed to AI education and research in Cameroon and abroad including KmerAI, Women in Machine Learning and Data Science Yaounde, Z-Inspection and Deep Decision group.
