Welcome to another edition of the Florida Appellate Review Case Law Update.. In this week’s episode, Palm Beach County Justice Association Board Members Andrew Harris, Jennifer Dinetz, and Jeff Adelman discuss a trio of cases addressing:
•Whether a tortfeasor can claim set-off of a plaintiff’s settlement with an uninsured motorist carrier, with the Second District Court of Appeal certifying a question of great public importance to the Florida Supreme Court;
•Whether a tortfeasor is entitled to financial discovery of a plaintiff’s attorney’s financial relationship to a retained expert; and
•Whether a party was entitled to vacate a default judgment.
