Diagnosed with autism and social anxiety, Lacey became increasingly isolated, eventually becoming immobile and confined to her family's couch. Her parents, Sheila and Clay Fletcher, failed to seek medical care, leaving her in unsanitary conditions that led to her death from sepsis and malnutrition.
