This podcast was first initiated to help liberate my brother Jonathan Rodriguez (J. Rod) and to share our testimony in how his guidance and mentorship led to my pursuit in becoming an Astronaut despite him being in prison. However, along the journey - I found that my brother’s situation is only a battle to this entire war against mass incarceration. Therefore, this podcast was modified to serve a bigger purpose by using our testimonies to help dismantle the prison system - finding true solutions to reduce crime. I was joined by a friend who was sentenced to life at 18 years old and was able to come home after 25 years at age 43 thanks to a state law that allowed him to see freedom. We both shared our testimonies, learnings, and experiences with the prison system.
